Every donor in the FEC's Schedule A filings reports a name and an employer. The Index aggregates by both: 2.46M normalized employers and 10.78M individual donor records. Employer results show how much an employer's people gave to which committee chairs and ranking members. Donor results show the largest individual contributors matching a name — useful when an employer field is missing or generic (a household name might be filed as “HOMEMAKER” or “RETIRED”).
